"What I do like about Rusty's Extender is how light it is for the older curlers. Ir releases the rock extremely easy and is definitely growing in popularity..."

  • Rick Folk - 2 time Canadian men's curling champion & 2 time World champion:

Appraisal of the EXTENDER
"I like your design much better than the 'cone type' sticks. I help instruct athletes at the CCA National Development Centre in Calgary with an effective or proper curling delivery. One important factor we point out is to ensure that the curler understands the proper rotation of the turn as the stone is released. This rotation should be applied around the center or axis of the stone handle.
As the EXTENDER handle is rotated clockwise or counter clockwise, the turn is applied through the center of the stone, which is exactly what the CCA high performance centre instructs the curlers to do. We teach athletes to release the handle of the stone by having the hand rising off the top of the handle. The design of the EXTENDER allows these important principles to occur."
"We are into year two at Inverness and the extender cue continues to allow more people than ever to be introduced to the sport or to keep them in the sport. 84 year old Jimmy Simpson recently won a major bonspiel with some excellent "stick" work! Highland Wheelchair Curling Club just about caused a major upset by taking the current World Champion to an extra end at the British Championship. All thanks to your great product!"
Gordon Kenny - Curling Development Officer
"I had a need for it last winter. I had knee surgery and The EXTENDER allowed me to continue playing while I was rehabing."
Manager of a Toronto Curling Club
"Because of her poor balance our daughter was afraid of trying a slide delivery. THE EXTENDER is allowing her, as well as other Special Olympians to experience the sport.."
Val Bonenfant
"Curling is fun again since I started using the EXTENDER. I have arthritis in the knees and hip and going down was easy but getting up was agony when throwing a rock. Now I can curl in several Bonspiel as well as the McLellan Club, a 14 end challenge game.
I strongly endorse and recommend the EXTENDER to anyone who has knee or other discomfort which takes away the joy of curling."
Fred Gallant (Fredericton, New Brunswick)
"A Canadian friend gave me your EXTENDER SCOPE. It is easy to control and release of the stone is so smooth."
(Glasgow, Scotland)
"You are right, my curlers do enjoy the Extenders.
Especially the lady, who sometimes did not have enough strength for the heaviest shots (usually she had problems with take outs) Now with the extenders it is much easier to perform all kinds of deliveries.
Thank you again.
Arkadiusz Detyniecki (Warsaw Poland)
P.S. Some fotos from our training."

"I want to thank you again for your donation of a curling "Extender" to our Rehabilitation Centre here at Saskatoon City Hospital. I attended a w/c curling clinic recently (March 13/04) in conjunction with the Brier and it was a huge success. They used the "Extender" exclusively at this clinic. I had opportunity to try it as well and was very impressed with the control that you have delivering a curling rock in this manner. I have already introduced it to several of my clients here on Rehab. They are thrilled that they will be able to use a device that allows them to continue to be independent with a sport they have enjoyed so much in the past.
Sincerely,
Sherri Nelson, Rec. Therapist
